Sample booklets

One trip, three styles.

These are pages of a booklet Wayzine made from a sample trip, “Kansai in November”: a made-up week in Kyoto and Osaka. Your booklet is made the same way, from your own plan, in the style you pick.

Style 1 of 3

Field notebook

The default. Mono labels, ruled boxes and one accent ink, like a notebook kept on the road.

Field notebook cover: “Kansai in November”, Sunday 1 to Saturday 7 November 2026, Kyoto and Osaka, under blocks of rust, black and hatching crossed by a route line with its stations.
The cover
Field notebook, day 3 in Kyoto, “Higashiyama on foot”: the hotel, then six stops from Kiyomizu-dera at 07:30 to dinner in Pontochō at 19:00, with their addresses, hours and costs. The facing page has the day’s map with the stops numbered, a directory, the hotel’s address to show a driver, and a few phrases.
Day 3 and its map · pages 8 and 9
Field notebook, pages 22 and 23: “Saved places”, places the group may get to with boxes to tick off, and “What we spent”, ruled columns for the date, what, how much and who paid.

Style 2 of 3

Riso

Big day numbers and two inks laid over each other, in the look of a risograph print.

Riso cover: “Kansai in November” in large blue type, under blocks of brick red, blue, plum and pink crossed by a route line with its stations.
The cover
Riso, day 3 in Kyoto: a large red 03 beside “Kyoto”, the usual weather for November, and the day’s stops from Kiyomizu-dera to Fushimi Inari Taisha with times, addresses and tips. The facing page has dinner in Pontochō, the day’s map, a directory and phrases.
Day 3 and its map · pages 8 and 9

Transit line

Each day drawn as a metro line, with its stops as the stations along it.

The cover
Transit line, day 3 in Kyoto: a large 3 beside the usual high and low, rain and the hours of daylight, and the stops as stations on a green line, from Kiyomizu-dera to dinner in Pontochō. About the sample

A booklet as long as the trip.

The sample trip, seven days in two cities, made a 28-page booklet. Each day gets a spread, a busy day two, so a longer trip gets more pages, up to 48.

The sample shows everything a booklet can hold. Some of it, such as phrases, the usual weather and tips for places, is printed only where we have it for your destination. The sample’s maps are drawn over a plain stand-in; a booklet’s maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap.
